I have been a medical doctor for fifty-two (52) years. I have been a Disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ for sixty-six ( 66) years. I consider myself a man of Faith and a man of Science. Healing in all its various forms is a miracle of God. So, even after I have done surgery to remove a tumor or new growth, the healing that follows is out of my hands. Jesus gives a parable of a farmer who sows the seed and goes away, how it grows in the soil he does not know ( Mark 4:26-29) He also said , This is what the kingdom of God is like.
A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain – first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest is come.”Gratitude is different from indebtedness. Gratitude is the warm feeling you get when someone helps you figure out a Great solution to a difficult problem that you have been trying to solve. This thankfulness is to God and not to the Doctor.
Jesus during his life on earth performed many miracles. In Matthew 14:17 he multiplied five loaves of bread and two fish to feed thousands. In John 12:41 we learn how he raised Lazarus four days after his death. John 12:41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “ Father , I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”Notice that Jesus had not yet asked Lazarus to come out of the grave but he was thanking his Father God for hearing him and raising Lazarus.
